Auxiliary Fire Force
The Department of Fire & Emergency Services has been functioning with acute shortage of operational staff for sometime past. Accordingly to strengthen the Fire & Emergency Services, the Government decided to engage a good number of Auxiliary Fire Operator (1572 nos.) from among the selected eligible Civil Defence Volunteers referred to by the Civil Defence Department on a daily payment of Rs. 310/- per day subject to a maximum of 22 days a month for a limited period of one year or till regular recruitment to main posts is made through normal recruitment process whichever is earlier. Meanwhile more than 1170 nos. of Auxiliary Fire Operator have been engaged and placed under different Divisions. Similarly. 100 nos. of Auxiliary Fire Engine Operator-cum-Driver would be engaged from Ex-Servicemen who have driven heavy vehicles in Army. Already 83 nos. of Auxiliary Fire Engine Operator-cum-Driver have been working under this Directorate.
Lastly the Government has decided to engage 20 nos. of Auxiliary A.M.O. from retired A.M.O. cadre who are below 64.
